Join us for the 2nd annual YIMBY week in the City of Orillia from June 12-17. YIMBY week events begin on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Orillia City Center at 50 Andrew St S. Meet us and Mayor McIsaac for the flag raising ceremony and proclamation presentation. WHAT IS YIMBY ‘Yes in My Backyard'? YIMBY week is a week of community action to support our neighbours who are experiencing homelessness or housing precarity. YIMBY week occurs across Simcoe County every year, this will be the 2nd year that Couchiching Jubilee House will be hosting YIMBY week in Orillia! We want to look at how we can collectively support and create a healthy, vibrant community where everyone has a safe, affordable, hopeful place to call home. YIMBY week will host educational events, flag raisings across Simcoe County, lawn sign campaigns and much more to advocate for more housing solutions in our community. ???
