    About the Company


    A&G Roofing is an established and growing full-service roofing contracting company that has been operating in Simcoe County and Muskoka for over 50 years. Based just outside of Orillia in Severn Township, we are a family-first company that believes in building long-lasting relationships with our clients, creating customer experiences unlike any other in the roofing industry.


    Application Requirements:


    We are hiring individuals who are motivated to learn and develop in the roofing trade.  We offer an apprenticeship training program to the right candidates to develop their skills through to journeyman status. We also offer experienced installers with a solid background in the roofing or construction industry continued training to develop their skills. Training is provided by the company directly and through agency certified trainers.


    Day-to-day duties will include:

    • Daily check of service truck to ensure proper tools and supplies are readily available. 

    • Assist with loading, unloading projects.

    • Setup and removal of ground cover and site protections for re-roofing projects.

    • Removal of waste and cleanup of the work area.

    • Loading of tools and materials to the work area.

    • Installing materials as directed and requisite with the individuals skills and training

    • Reviewing site conditions daily, participate in a meeting with team members to discuss safety and daily production

    • Daily tracking of materials and supplies used to be reported to the Site Supervisor 

    • Participate in regular meetings with management with respect to safety, production, performance and professional development


    Qualifications, Skills, Responsibilities and Abilities

    • Experience as a construction labourer is an asset but not required.

    • Ability to work at heights

    • Follow safety rules

    • Team player

    • Must be coachable, trainable, and able to take direction from Site Foreman and other members of the crew in order to get natal roofs using various materials and tools

    • Working at Heights, WHMIS and H&SA for workers certifications

    • Take pride in work and be able to own a job or task through to completion

    • Detail oriented and an ability to see a task through to completion is the cornerstone of an excellent tradesperson in the roofing industry

    • Education

    • Shop courses or any certifications in the construction industry would be a benefit but not a requirement at the point of hire. 


    Working Hours:

    • Working hours will vary starting as early as 6:00 am weather permitting, Monday - Friday

    • Occasionally you will be scheduled to work on Saturdays or Sundays 

    • You are expected to be available as needed on inclement weather days to perform site repairs, fabricate metal flashing, and to perform general shop/yard cleanup

    • Lay-offs due to cold weather generally occur on or about December 1 each year, although the is typically part-time work throughout the winter installing on new builds and clearing ice and snow from flat and sloped roofs. 


    Compensation and Benefits:

    Starting pay is $20 per hour for entry level for applicants starting the apprenticeship program or experienced installers are paid based on skill level and experience. A comprehensive benefit package is provided after three months of employment.
