Perch Festival Postponed
The Orillia District Chamber of Commerce has again revised the schedule for the 40th Perch Festival. The province's Stay at Home Order is in effect and has been extended as part of an ongoing strategy to control the transmission of COVID-19. To support the provincial efforts, the Chamber will continue to adjust the festival dates until the Stay at Home Order has been lifted. While we are supportive of fishing as an outdoor activity that lends itself well to physical distancing, we recognize that it is crucial to take every precaution to support compliance with the provincial guidelines.
Please go to www.orillia.com for more information and updates. New festival dates will be posted when an end date for the Stay at Home Order is confirmed. As soon as the festival opening date has been finalized, all participants will be notified through email.
We are constantly adjusting aspects of Perch Festival to correspond with the situation. Prize pickup locations are also being reviewed. As many anglers are aware, perch are still active and can be found throughout the year in the many lakes of Simcoe County including Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching.
