Today the Orillia & District Chamber of Commerce Celebrates the Best in Local Business at the Orillia Opera House
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the Orillia & District Chamber of Commerce (ODCC) is celebrating local business excellence at the annual Business Achievement Awards Ceremony. The event takes place at the Orillia Opera House and will feature the official awards presentation along with live music, networking, and a red carpet meet-and-greet. There is no cost to attend thanks to the generous support of presenting sponsor OLG, along with the event sponsors and the members of the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce.
The ODCC is encouraging anyone with a connection to or interest in local business to attend, including small business owners, entrepreneurs, professionals, and non-profit or community group leaders. Post-secondary business students and aspiring entrepreneurs are welcome, as well as friends or family members of nominees.
“After all that we’ve been through over the past few years, it’s more important than ever to celebrate local businesses,” says ODCC Executive Director Allan Lafontaine. “We hope to see a lot of folks come out to enjoy this event in support of local business, and to help recognize the outstanding efforts of the nominees.”
The awards presentation will be hosted by local radio personality Carey Moran, who is well-known locally not only for being a long-time host of PURE Country 106’s morning show, but also for her commitment to the community through her volunteer work. Live music includes harpist Rachel Easson as well as local artist Dylan Lock. Lock grew up in Victoria Harbour and his musical influences range from Elvis to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The event begins at 6:00 p.m. for networking and red-carpet reception, and the formal part of the ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to support local by booking an early dinner reservation or post-event celebration at a local establishment. Additional details regarding the ceremony are available at orillia.com.
